Playing against a strong wind on a bright sunny day the blues took the game to the hosts with powerful sorties into the home penalty area with Cooper having a couple of shots stopped by the home keeper before the hosts were able to get out of their own half.
Then as the half went on the home side applied tremendous pressure on the blues defence without causing too much anxiety to blues keeper Hill.
After 34 mins the blueboys broke the deadlock through Coopers fine shot after he was put through by the busy and tireless Gallagher.
The blues took control of the half and were playing some fine football when McCafferty’s corner was headed home by Shaw to give the blues a commanding 2-0 lead.
The rest of the half was dominated by the blues with efforts from Cooper and a header from Corran both being saved by the home keeper.

The second half saw the hosts showing good moves without troubling the visitors in a half marred by some strange antics and decisions being made by the officials both in the middle and on the lines with controversy being created when no one  other than the officials knew what some of the decisions were being given for.
Eventually the blues settled the game when substitute Danny Fitzgerald took on the home defence and lashed a left foot piledriver across the keeper into the net for the goal of the game.
The game ended with the referee booking Danslow as the player was warming down for dissent and dismissed the home physio for verbal abuse of the officials as they were leaving the playing area.
